Description

This monumental painting, titled “Sunbeams,” is a 100×80 cm oil on canvas masterpiece. The work was inspired by the breathtaking sunrise over the Caspian Sea in Mardakan, Baku. The foundation of the composition is a live plein air study painted on-site in the summer of 2024; the piece was subsequently developed and completed in a studio setting during 2024–2025, where its color, light, and texture were further refined on a grander scale.

The painting masterfully captures the serene and poetic atmosphere of the early morning hours. The central emotional theme is the play of sunlight filtering through cloud layers, reflecting onto the sea’s surface in a palette of golden yellows, deep blues, and delicate pinks. The smooth, calm surface of the sea interacts with the vast color transitions of the sky, evoking a sense of tranquility, depth, and a moment frozen in time. The use of soft brushwork, transparent layers, and textured transitions—hallmarks of the oil medium—heightens the ethereal effect of the light.

The canvas balances realistic observation with an emotional color palette. This seascape represents more than just a specific location; it symbolizes the morning mood of the Caspian coast and the silent dialogue between man and nature. This artwork is designed to create a relaxing, balanced, and aesthetic impact within any interior—be it a residential or professional space.
